Ordination and First Mass of Fr Sean Maguire

Sean promises respect and obedience to Bishop Leo and his successors.

Sean Maguire from Carrickacromin in Laragh Parish was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Leo O’ Reilly on Sunday 24th June in Cavan Cathedral.

It is 8 years since the last priest was ordained for this diocese, we hope we wont have to wait as long for the next one! Speaking at the ordination, Bishop Leo said “We admire your courage and faith in offering yourself for the priesthood at this very diffifult time for the Church in Ireland. We rejoice that, while the harvest is great and the labourers are few, there is one more staunch labourer joining the great meitheal of the priesthood in Kilmore to continue the mission and ministry of Christ today.”
